City Police Beat

Possession of a Controlled Substance During the evening of the 23rd of April, police officers from the North Bay Police Service observed a male, walking on Worthington St. E., throwing away a small package from his hand when he noticed the officers.

Assault with a Weapon Shortly after midnight, on the 22nd of April, Cst. Long and Cst. Shepstone of the North Bay Police Service attended a downtown bar on Main St. W.

Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle/ Obstruct Peace Officer On the 19th of April, the North Bay Police Service received a call to attend the parking lot of the LCBO on Worthington St. W. in regards to a possible impaired driver.

THREATENING During the evening of the 17th of April, Cst.s Parker and Adair of the North Bay Police Service arrested a male on Manitou St. for being in Breach of his Recognizance by being out past his curfew.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT W/ WEAPON & CAUSE DISTURBANCE On the 16th of April, a young person was arrested by police in the lobby of Police Headquarters for Causing a Disturbance by yelling and swearing.

ARSON ARREST On the 13th of April Cst. Bill Gainforth of the North Bay Police Service attended the Barrie Police station and arrested a male in relation to an arson that occurred in Aug. of last year.

HOSTAGE SITUATION On the 12th of April shortly after 3 PM it is alleged that a hostage incident took place in a residence on Thelma Av. During this time period it is further alleged that 3 individuals held people at bay with a knife.

ASSAULT & THREATENING On the 11th of April at approximately 9 AM it is alleged that a man struck a woman known to him, within the city. It is further alleged that he then threatened this woman with bodily harm. Csts.

POINTING KNIFE On the 6th of April it is alleged that an argument took place within a residence in the city. This argument escalated to the point where a knife was held by a female and brandished towards another female within this same residence.

WANTED SHOES On the 4th of April during the early afternoon hours it is alleged that a woman forced her way into a residence within the city. At this time a scuffle ensued between this woman and the female occupant.
