HOSTAGE SITUATION

On the 12th of April shortly after 3 PM it is alleged that a hostage incident took place in a residence on Thelma Av.

During this time period it is further alleged that 3 individuals held people at bay with a knife. While this was taking place one of the assailants was going through various wallets in the home.

The Joint Forces Drug Squad from the Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police Service acted on the information and with assistance from Cst. Bill Gainforth from our Service a vehicle was stopped and eventually 3 individuals were arrested.

Officers believe this incident was drug related.

Patricia KOUCH 41 years old of Judge Av. in North Bay is charged with Robbery and Forcible Confinement.

Paula CICOGNI 20 years old of Fletcher Av. in Ajax is charged with Robbery and Weapons Dangerous.

Dwayne WILLIS 29 years old also of Fletcher Av. in Ajax is charged with Robbery, Possession of a Concealed Weapon, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) and Assault With a Weapon.

All three were kept in custody for a bail hearing.
