ARSON ARREST

On the 13th of April Cst. Bill Gainforth of the North Bay Police Service attended the Barrie Police station and arrested a male in relation to an arson that occurred in Aug. of last year. This arson took place at a chip stand in the 800 block of Lakeshore Dr. in North Bay.

Francis PHILLIPS 47 years old of Perry St. in Barrie is charged with Arson and is to attend court on the 5th of June.


ASSAULT & THREATENING

On the 15th of April it is alleged that a man was accosted within an apartment building on Oak St. This man was allegedly further threatened with death when Csts. Gerry Martin and Scott Buchanan showed up to investigate the incident.

Raymond LANGFORD 56 years old of Oak St. W. is charged with Assault and Uttering Threats. He was kept in custody for a bail hearing.


ASSAULTED ON TRAIL

On the 14th of April at approximately 12:30 AM a woman was walking down the Monastery Trail near College Dr. It is alleged that at this time a lone male dressed in black clothing came out of the bush. The female then ran away with this male chasing her. He grabbed her and covered her mouth but she fought back, struck him and managed to escape.

The only description available is that the suspect was white, approximately 19 years old and 5’10 with an average build and facial hair. At the time he wore black clothing.


YOUTH ATTACKED ON WAY HOME

On the 14th of April at approximately 12:30 AM it is alleged that a male teenager was walking home past Sunset Park School.

At this time there were 3 males in the parking lot, who approached this lone male and they began to assault him.

The victim received a fractured nose, swollen eye and several lumps to the head.

After, the victim managed to flee home.

The 3 assailants were 17 to 18 years old and wore hoods. 2 of them were wearing light beige snowboarding coats and the 3rd male was 5’11 and wore a dark grey sweater with a yellow sweater underneath.
