Canadore College Panthers News Release ******************** On Friday, January 18 the Canadore College Panthers hosted the Redeemer Royals in OCAA varsity volleyball action. The women’s game started at 6PM and the men’s game followed at 8PM.

Story by Lucas Punkari The North Bay Skyhawks rebounded from a home ice loss last Sunday with a road victory on Friday night, as they defeated the Manitoulin Islanders by a score of 4-1.

The Senior Trojans got back on a winning note by defeating Algonquin 61-52. The Trojans jumped all over Barons early grabbing a 21-10 1st quarter lead. At the half the Barons trailed 33-22.

The North Bay Skyhawks may not have been playing Wednesday but that didn't stop the Soo Thunderbirds from leap-frogging the Skyhawks in the NOJHL standings.

The West Ferris Ringette Association (WFRA) will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the West Ferris Arena Boardroom on Thursday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m.

Doyle Anthony Junior of the Mounties’ basketball squad has won Athlete of the Week (for the week of January 7th to 14th)honours at Mount Allison for his impressive performance in the weekend’s games against NSAC and Holland College.

The Ontario Junior Weightlifting team will compete at the 2008 Junior Nationals in Lake Country, B.C. this coming weekend. Lifters were chosen based on performances in competitions from August to December of 2007.
