The Chippewa Raiders Jr. Boys Volleyball Team captured the title at the Chippewa Scarlet and Gold Jr. Boys Vollleyball Tournament which took place on Friday and Saturday at the local school.

This weekend, in Toronto, at the York Mills Collegiate Invitational Junior Volleyball Tournament, the Widdifield Wildcats placed first among 11 tier-one Toronto area teams.

The Sturgeon Fall Lumberjacks built a 2-0 second period lead, but penalties led to 5 unanswered goals by the Powassan Dragons, making the final 5-3 Friday at the Sturgeon Falls Arena. Colton Dow and Michel Dumont scored for the Lumberjacks (7-9-0-0).

KIRKLAND LAKE, ON - Cody Levasseur had 3 goals to lead the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers to a convincing 5-1 win over the Kirkland Lake Legion 87's on Saturday night. Brett Hargrave and Martin Strasbourg had the other goals for the Trappers.

The Trojan Sports Complex provided the venue for one of the Junior Football quarterfinal football games on Saturday. The Northern Braves travelled to West Ferris to face the third place Trojans.

IROQUOIS FALLS, ON - The North Bay Jr. A Trappers scored 2 goals in the third period but it wasn't enough as they drop a 3-2 decision to the Abitibi Eskimos on Saturday night at the Jus Jordan arena.
