Lumberjacks chopped down by Dragons

The Sturgeon Fall Lumberjacks built a 2-0 second period lead, but penalties led to 5 unanswered goals by the Powassan Dragons, making the final 5-3 Friday at the Sturgeon Falls Arena. Colton Dow and Michel Dumont scored for the Lumberjacks (7-9-0-0).

Colton Dow and Michel Dumont scored for the Lumberjacks (7-9-0-0). Paul Breton suffered the loss for the Lumberjacks.

The Dragons improved to 9-6-0-0 maintain third spot in the GMHL.

One night earlier the Lumberjacks downed the Algoma Avalanche 4-3 in a shootout. Colton Dow scored twice in regulation and the shootout winner. Michel Dumont also scored for the Lumberjacks. Jared Knott faced 50 shots in the win.
