Levasseur nets hat trick in Trappers win over 87's

KIRKLAND LAKE, ON - Cody Levasseur had 3 goals to lead the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers to a convincing 5-1 win over the Kirkland Lake Legion 87's on Saturday night.

Brett Hargrave and Martin Strasbourg had the other goals for the Trappers. Danny Desrochers chipped in with 3 assists.

Jordan Turbide spoiled Kenny Appleby's shutout bid with a goal at 6:24 of the 3rd period.

The win finishes up a successful road trip up Highway 11 on the weekend as they edged the New Liskeard Cubs in a shootout Friday night.

With the win, the Trappers improve to 10 wins, 5 losses and 2 shootout losses, leaving them tied for 2nd place (22 points) with the Sault Ste. Marie North Stars.
