A group of 38 swimmers from the North Bay Y Titans swim team attended the Northeastern Ontario Region (NEOR) Developmental 1 meet in Sudbury from October 23 to 24.
The two-day meet was the first meet of the 2010/2011 swim season and Titans swimmers found many levels of success at the season opening event.
Grace Liritzis and Jennifer Leckie brought home multiple first place finishes in their events. Other first place ribbons went to Brittany Pask, Jeremy Sallie, Olivia Gagnon and Renee Gagnon.
While adjusting to a new team setting, senior swimmers Jaydan and Dylan Jackson, Talia Preston, Brett and Connor Montgomery, and Sierra McCourt came home with numerous top 5 finishes in their events over the weekend.
Keltan Baran, Angelina Bolchakova-Racine, Max Giesler, Sydney Hughes, Alyssa, Stoppa, Brett Stoppa, Noah Swain, Evan Kilroy, and Katie Tripp also had top 5 finishes in many of their swims.
Personal best times came from Megan and Daniel Zhou, Quinn Schroeder, Kaitlyn Sage, Garrett Ryan, Kayley and Amy Niemela, Aliya Marsh, Rochelle Leppert, Kaytlin Legris, Abbey Krajc, Chloe Hunt, Robinson and Alexandra Campbell, Aurora Buckley, Regine Wyss and Emily Bolan.
Next competitive action for the North Bay Y Titans swim club will take place at the end of November with hopes that 70 of our swimmers will attend NEOR Developmental 2 being held at CFB North Bay.
