Judy Koziol, who finished sixth in the 2010 election filed her papers this afternoon in a bid for her fourth council term. She is currently the Vice Chair of General Government. All 10 incumbents are now seeking re-election.

Councillor Dave Mendicino filed his papers this morning to take another run at a council seat. He finished fourth in the 2010 elections.

Highway 11 is now fully open. According to the OPP the highway was re-opened just ater 2:30 this afternoon.

A break and enter that took place this morning on Galt Street had a police dog join the search this morning. At approximately 4 a.m., North Bay Police and the OPP’s canine unit responded to a call regarding a B & E on Galt Street.

Construction of a new culvert on O’Brien Street at Ramsey Street will close the bike path, known as the Kinsmen Trail. The portion at Ramsey Street will be closed for 6 – 8 weeks effective today .
