Second candidate for mayor wants poverty addressed

The second entry into North Bay’s mayor’s race says he’s been involved with the disabled and poor in the city and wants to bring a new perspective to the top job.

The second entry into North Bay’s mayor’s race says he’s been involved with the disabled and poor in the city and wants to bring a new perspective to the top job.

Greg Gray is a 59 year old former City of North Bay employee who has been self-employed for the past eight years with his own business, Seal-All Waterproofing.

He also is a landlord.

“I’m concerned with the needs of Cassellholme (for the aged), and poverty faced by seniors,” he told BayToday.

“I want to look for efficiencies in running the city and ways to reduce costs.’ he added. I’m Scottish and don’t like to waste money.”

For example, he says he’s very happy with Memorial Gardens renovations but unhappy with the cost, and suggests other alternatives could have been explored, including selling the entire building to Battalion owner Scott Abbott.

Gray also thinks the mayor should be more “hand on” in running the city.

The 25 year resident of the city says he’ll be coming out with a full platform soon.
