Highway 11 is now fully open. According to the OPP the highway was re-opened just ater 2:30 this afternoon.
A head on collision between a car and transport truck has left one man dead and Highway 11 closed for approximately 10 hours 3 km's south of New Liskeard.
OPP responded to the fatal motor vehicle collision this morning shortly after 5 o'clock.
The collision occurred on Highway 11 at Seeds Road, involving a southbound tractor trailer and a northbound Honda Civic.
The driver of the Honda Civic, Andre Lamothe 58, of North Cobalt was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Eugeniusz Wietczak, 59 of Mississauga was transported by Temiskaming Ambulance to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in the vehicles.
Haileybury Fire Department attended the scene. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
