The North Bay Trappers open their home season in the Great North Midget League with a pair of games this weekend at the West Ferris Arena. Saturday, they host the Sudbury Lockerby Confectionery Nickel Capitals. Game time is 7:20 p.m.

The West Ferris Ringette Association kicked off its 2004/2005 season with a full weekend of events. Several players of all ages took part in a daylong game at Pete Palangio Arena and the money raised will go towards the new hospital.

The Canadore College Lady Panthers lost a pair of games in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s fastball Saturday. The Windsor St. Clair Sain ts won the opener 3-2 at Kelly Field and completed the sweep with a 7-1 victory.
