Lady Panthers drop pair of games (new)

The Canadore College Lady Panthers lost a pair of games in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s fastball Saturday. The Windsor St. Clair Sain ts won the opener 3-2 at Kelly Field and completed the sweep with a 7-1 victory.

Four errors hurt the Panthers in the first game.
The Saints scored two runs in the sixth inning on no hits and three errors.
Sara Smith went the distance for the Saints and struck out six and walked one batter. She allowed five hits. Smith threw 88 pitches including 64 strikes.
Maggie Gray had three hits for the winners.
Brittany Shannon was tagged with the loss, striking out six and walking three. Shannon had a pitch count of 101 including 64 strikes.
Alicia Clouthier, Melissa Cross, Lynsey Snowball,double, Krystal Chartrand and Shannon had the hits for the Panthers.
In the second game, Leigh Anne Taylor took the loss for the Panthers.
The Saints scored six runs in the second after a costly error which would have been the second out of the inning.
Taylor then hit the next batter and the Saints took it from there.
Taylor struck out four and walked three and gave up seven hits. Four of them were in the second inning.
Melissa Galamb was the winner allowing seven hits, walking four and striking out four.
Taylor threw 105 pitches, 61 of them strikes. Galamb had a ratio of 63 strikes-39 balls.
Gray again led the attack for the Saints with two hits including a three-run double in the second inning.
Clouthier and Snowball had two hits each for the Panthers with Cross, Taylor and Shannon adding singles.
The Lady Panthers host Cambrian College Golden Shield of Sudbury at Kelly Field Wednesday night. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
