Trappers in Sault to open season (new)

The North Bay Trappers open the Great North Midget Hockey League season Saturday night in Sault Ste. Marie against the North Stars. The two clubs also meet Sunday in the Sault.

Head coach Larry Keenan is back behind the Trapper bench after a four-year absence.
“We’ll be competitive,” he said. “I think we’ll be strong up front.”
The Trappers have their two goaltenders back from last year, Mathieu Aube and Andrew Laperriere.
Others on the roster include Tyler Domanico, Kyle Radigan, Joshua Ranger, Philippe Bouffard, Ian Cooley, Adam Avison, Martin Lauzon, Niko Tonello, Lance McMahon, Kody Carnevale, Mitchell Sullivan, Marc Senecal, Matthew Thompson, Kyle Willard, Josh McCully and Andrew Gallant.
Norm Marion and Scott Kile are assistant coaches and Wayne Eyre and Glenn Hall are the trainers.
General manager is Art Tiernay and Ted Meggs is the manager.
The Trappers home opener is Saturday Sept. 18 at the West Ferris Arena against the Sudbury Lockerby Confectionery Nickel Capitals. Game time is 7:20 p.m.
The Trappers host Valley East Consbec Cobras Sunday Sept. 19 at the WFA, starting at 1:20 p.m.
