BRANTFORD, ON. - The place to be this weekend was at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford, Ontario for the Division 3 Provincial Championships where the North Bay Y Titans brought on some exciting swimming action.

SUDBURY, ON. - The Apollo Gymnastics competitive team, consisting of 22 athletes, traveled to Sudbury for the annual Raise the Bar Challenge held this past weekend.

On April 21st, 1984, Memorial Gardens was crammed with more than 4,000 fans as the North Bay Pinehill Coffee Shop midgets defeated the Notre Dame Hounds from Wilcox, Saskatchewan 5-2 to win the Air Canada Cup national Midget Championship.

People are starting to take notice of Melissa Seamont. The 16-year-old St. Joseph-Scollard Hall student is heading to Winnipeg in early May to play for Team Ontario North at the National Aboriginal Hockey Tournament from May 3rd to May 9th.

TORONTO, ON. - Two members of the Gymtrix Trampoline Team competed at Ontario Championships this past weekend at Seneca College in Toronto. They previously obtained the qualifying score to move on to the championships.

The North Bay Ice Boltz PeeWee B girls hockey team travelled to Toronto on the weekend to take part in the OWHA Provincial Championship. The girls came out hard Friday morning against a strong team from Woodstock and the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

NDA Badminton News Release ******************** The NDA Badminton Championships will be held on Monday April 20 and Tuesday April 21. The Senior events on Monday will be held at Algonquin while the Juniors and Midgets will be playing at Chippewa.

The West Ferris Ringette Association will be hosting tryouts for Belle 'A' for the 2009/2010 season this Wednesday, April 22nd at 7:00 a.m. at Pete Palangio Arena and again on Thursday, April 23rd, again at 7:00 a.m. at Pete Palangio Arena.
