The North Bay Ice Boltz PeeWee B girls hockey team travelled to Toronto on the weekend to take part in the OWHA Provincial Championship. The girls came out hard Friday morning against a strong team from Woodstock and the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Some big saves by both goalies kept the game scoreless. Friday afternoon the Ice Boltz met the Oakville Hornets and recorded another win with a 2-0 score marking a second shut out for the North Bay goalie. Saturday morning the girls were on fire and had a 6-0 win over Lindsay Lynx.

Finishing in first place in our pool pushed us on to the quarter final game Saturday evening against Walkerton. It was a hard fought game by both teams but North Bay came out on top with a 3-2 win advancing them to the semi finals. They faced Toronto Leaside and came out with determination and finished with a 4-1 win to put them in the championship game against Smith Falls.

Facing this very strong team the girls were down 1-0 and with 40 seconds left scored to tie it up forcing overtime. After many scoring opportunities for both teams and huge saves by the North Bay goalie Smith Falls managed to score in the third overtime to end the game in a 2-1 score. The girls played very hard and never gave up and should be very proud.
