Congratulations goes out to Ray Baron who scored a hole in one at on the #10 hole on Highview Golf Course Tuesday, June 8th. Ray used his 6 iron to ace the 165 yard hole.

The Ontario Ringette Association at their Annual General Meeting last Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Best Western in North Bay has awarded some provincial awards to the West Ferris Ringette Association.

Youth Hockey Development, a local hockey school, has teamed up with Paul Lawson who is presently the skating consultant for both the Montreal Canadiens and their farm team the Hamilton Bulldogs.

This past Sunday the Northeast Region [Region Two of the Ontario Volleyball Association] held tryouts for the girls’ Regional Volleyball team. The tryouts were conducted at Nipissing University and North Bay high school athletes performed very well.

The Nipissing University Lakers hockey team have added depth and size to next year’s roster with the announcement that NHL prospect Doug Clarkson has accepted an offer to study at the university and play for the team.

Congratulations go to Mitchell Leszczak who registered a Hole In One using his 8-iron on the 122 yard Par 3 4th Hole at the Pinewood Park Golf Course on Saturday. his 8 This Hole in One was witnessd by Adam Leszczak and Mike Leszczak.

Nipissing University is pleased to announce its dates for the 2010 Lakers Summer Soccer camp. The camp will take place at Nipissing University. July 5-9 - Ages 6-8 will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
