A number of local agencies came together as one earlier this week to try and come up with solutions to the rising number of babies born in North Bay with an addiction to narcotics.

St. Alexander Elementary School on Bloem Street in North Bay, plus some surrounding homes were evacuated mid-morning after a gas line was ruptured near the school at approximately 10:30.

Over the past few nights, North Bay Police received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles, including some damage.

After much searching, the Nipissing Serenity Hospice has found a place to call home --- and it's not at the hospital.

Deputy Chief Shawn Devine says police statistics continue to show that the officers continue to be busy and call loads are increasing. The Deputy Chief made those comments Wednesday at the monthly Police Board meeting at Police headquarters.
