Third-place for Northern Ontario girls hockey team

The Northern Ontario Bantam Girls hockey team captured third place in a Quebec AAA Hockey Tournament over the weekend.

PHOTO: Jennah Johnston won Ontario’s only gold in the 69-kilo class. Johnston, a Chippewa Secondary School student, posted a 117.5-kilo total, by way of 52.5 kilos in the snatch and 65 kilos in the clean and jerk.

MONTREAL — Five North Bay Apollo Gymnastic Club athletes competed in the Eastern Canadian championships here. The competition was attended by 282 athletes from Quebec, Nova Scotia and Ontario.
