The Parade Committee will be hosting an event this year on Sunday, Nov., 21 but the format will be dependent on public health guidelines and gathering limits set out by the Province.

The committee will have more details to share as the date gets closer and the format is finalized.

Last year's parade was cancelled.

“We understand that these events are important to our community, however, during these uncertain times we need to ensure that the safety of the public is the top priority,” said Dr. Jim Chirico at the time.

Instead, the City of North Bay hosted a drive-thru Santa Claus event in the south parking lot at Memorial Gardens.

Accompanied by their parents or caregivers, children were invited to the drive-thru to see Santa and wave from the safety of their vehicles. Children also brought their letters to Santa that were accepted along the route.

Meanwhile, the popular Halloween Night for Kids at the fire department has been cancelled for the second straight year over safety concerns and limits that remain in place for outdoor gatherings.
