The City of North Bay is helping local families get into the holiday spirit by providing an opportunity for children to see and safely forward their letters to Old Saint Nick.

The City of North Bay will host a drive-thru Santa Claus event this Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the south parking lot at Memorial Gardens.

Whereas the popular carol goes "Here comes Santa Claus," at this drive-thru Santa Claus event, perhaps children will adjust in this year like no other and sing "There goes Santa Claus," as they pass by?

Due to heightened health and safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic, holiday celebrations are a little different this year but Santa is coming to town on Sunday, Dec. 20. Holiday favourites such as the Santa Claus Parade and the Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas Walk were reluctantly cancelled by organizers.

Many visits with Santa have been relegated to virtual settings.

Accompanied by their parents or caregivers, children are invited to the drive-thru to see Santa and wave from the safety of their vehicles. Children can also bring their letters to Santa that will be accepted along the route.
