The Algonquin Barons Senior Boys soccer team is competing at OFSAA 'A' Soccer Championship in Chatham. On Monday morning in 32 C heat and humidity, the Barons lost 3-0 to West Elgin Senior Secondary from West Lorne - the #1 seed in the tournament.

The Trojans are holding three sports camps for young athletes this summer. The Baseball Camp will take place June 30th to July 4th for boys and girls aged 9 to 14.

The Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department are accepting registrations for the National Coaching Certification Program. “Introduction to Competition Part A” will be held June 10, 17 and 24th, 2008, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $100.

The North Bay Skyhawks organization still doesn't have an official lease deal for '08-'09, and still needs to come to an agreement with the city and the University about whether or not the two brands of hockey can co-exist in '09-'10.
