The Nipissing Lakers hockey program will be naming its assistant coaches at a press conference on Friday morning at the University. Head coach Mike McParland has stated that its likely his assistants will come from the North Bay area.

GOLDEN, B.C. — North Bay's David Nighbor doubled poled his way into the winner’s circle at the Dawn Mountain Challenge 10km Classic here on Sunday. The race featured Canada’s top ranked skiers including four 2006 Olympians.

Over the weekend the Thunderbird Swim Club hosted the NEOR #2 Developmental meet with 11 teams in attendance and 166 swimmers participating. It has been ten years since the Club has hosted a meet and it was a great success.

The North Bay Hilltop Variety Bantam 'AAA' Blades won 1 of their 3 weekend games this weekend against the Nickel City Sons. In their opener the Blades let a 3-1 lead slip away as the Sons edged the Blades 5-3.

The North Bay Skyhawks concluded the month of November on a winning note on Sunday night, as they defeated the Sudbury Junior Wolves by a score of 4-1 at Memorial Gardens.
