West Ferris Senior Secondary will once again be hosting a number of sports camps for boys and girls.

The Algonquin Barons Sr. Boys soccer team continued their strong play with a hard fought 4-2 victory over the Chippewa Raiders on Monday. Matt Cheaney scored 3 goals and Eric Huard one for the 3-1-1 Barons.

The Widdifield 3 on 3 basketball tournament will take place on June 6th at Widdifield and West Ferris S.S. Cost is $15.00 per player. The event is open for players from grade 5 all the way to grade 12 in both boys and girls divisions.

Skyhawks head coach Ian Swalucynski is going behind the bench this coming weekend to coach an Under-18 Skyhawks team at the 17th annual Challenge Cup International 'AAA' Championship Showcase event in Vancouver over the long weekend.

North Bay was well represented this past weekend as a group of 2002 born hockey players participated in a tournament hosted by Canlan ice Sports out of Toronto. The team went undefeated in round robin play to qualify for the 'AAA'division.

It was another successful weekend for the Algonquin Barons Track and Field team during Saturday’s Nipissing Invitational at St. Joseph-Scollard-Hall. As a team the Barons took home the top overall points title for the second consecutive competition.

Sundridge's Caleb Cameron may have been taken 271st overall in the Ontario Hockey League Draft, but this weekend he cracked the top 100.

The North Bay Mens Ball Hockey League began its 30th season last week. Eight teams are entered this year including defending champion Boston Pizza.

Congratulations to the first hole in one shooter of the season at Osprey Links. Michel Dumas aced the 100 yard 15th hole on Saturday, May 9th. Witnessing the shot were playing partners Jim Lopez, Bill Sangster & Tom Laberge.

ST. JOHN'S, NL - Stephanie Carr of North Bay Gymtrix walked away with five medals on Saturday from Eastern Canadian Gymnastics Championships in St. Johns Newfoundland. Her top finish was a Gold medal on Floor where she scored a whopping 13.45.
