Police have laid multiple charges against a man they believe is involved in a string of thefts, and who brandished a knife at a victim.

On the morning of October 19 a man entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet. The victim and a co-worker got a description of the thief and saw him walking on Lakeshore Drive. Police say the victim demanded his wallet back and the thief brandished a knife at both men and ran from the scene. The incident was reported to the police.

A purchase was later made on a credit card from the stolen wallet.

Then on October 24 police responded to a break-in at a shed at a Karla Drive home in the West Ferris area. The thief was confronted by the owner and fled the scene.

Following that break-in, the man was identified when he stole a bicycle from a nearby Plumtree home to flee the area.

Later that day, the same man was found by police a short distance away on Labreche Drive. Initially, he provided a false name, however police properly identified him during their investigation.
