A casino for North Bay now appears a certainty after City Council voted 8-3 Tues. night in favour of proceeding.
Council had previously voted 8-3 in favour, but Mark King moved a "motion of reconsideration" meaning councillors had another two weeks to consider their position before the vote tonight.

BayToday was first to report that Gateway plans to invest $31.3 million in constructing a 37,000 sq. ft. Cascades Casino with 14,100 sq.ft. of gaming space, 300 electronic games, 10 table games, a MATCH Eatery & Pub House and The Buffet restaurant.
It's expected to open in the spring of 2020.
