For the second time in a month, fire crews responded to a call at the Arclin property where the former Neste Resin’s facility on Wallace Road is being demolished.

Fire crews from Station 1 and 3 attended around 6 p.m. last night.

“Upon arrival a massive tank approximately 15’ x 20’ in size had caught fire during the cutting process associated with the demolition occurring on the property,” stated Deputy Chief Greg Saunders.

“Fire crews were on scene for approximately two hours and extinguished the fire without incident.  There were no exposure concerns associated with our attendance.  This is the second fire occurrence at the property requiring the attendance of firefighting personnel.”

The other incident occurred on February 26th and fire officials said it was more of a chemical reaction than an actual fire.

The facility shut its doors in 2014.

In late January, BayToday.ca learned the property is being marketed as an investment opportunity in an industrial business park.
