VIDEO: Horsfield addresses Inch situation

Don't expect Deputy Mayor Horsfield to fork over 'her share' of the integrity commissioner investigation: 'When we talk about victims, I don't think the victim should be paying for the cost of the investigation'

Just days after North Bay City Council docked Coun. Sara Inch's pay for 90 days as a penalty for multiple breaches of the municipality's code of conduct for harassment, the complainant addressed the matter (see video above).

Deputy Mayor Maggie Horsfield is positive it's not too late for this version of council to work together to accomplish its goals for this term while engaging and representing North Bay's citizens.

Last week, the release of an integrity commissioner's report ruling Inch had harassed Horsfield via email and social media posts earlier this year led council members to unanimously vote to dock the first-term councillor's pay during a special council meeting held Thursday evening. During that meeting, Inch suggested she and Horsfield each pay an even share of the $36,000-plus cost of the integrity commissioner's investigation.

Inch will continue to attend all council functions and perform her duties without pay for three months.
