The Promo Sports Depot Peewee BB Ice Boltz cruised to victory this past weekend winning gold at the Orillia Girls hockey tournament.

Sierra McCourt struck gold this past weekend as the North Bay Y Titans swim club played host to the Northeastern Ontario Regional Developmental #3 meet at the YMCA. McCourt placed first in all six of her swims at the two-day meet.

North Bay Figure Skating Club skaters brought home the trophy for the team with the most cumulative points after this weekend’s annual Interclub competition in Bracebridge. The competition drew skaters of many skill levels from the Near North Region.

Memorial Gardens was a buzz of activity Sunday as the Nipissing Lakers joined the North Bay North Stars special needs hockey team for a charity exhibition game.

Caleb Cagster had 14 points as the FJ McElligott Voyageurs outlasted the Odysee Phenix 55-41 in NDA Senior Boys Basketball action on Monday night. Jay Lamothe added 11 points while Cody Lacelle notched 8 for the winning Voyageurs.

The Nipissing Lakers volleyball teams took to the court for the second half of the season collecting weekend sweeps over the Sault and Conestoga.

The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears Jr. Basketball squad won the B flight championship at the Canadore/Best Western Shootout basketball tournament on the weekend. The Bears played Northern in the Junior Boys 'B' final and won 41-21.

On Saturday afternoon, Laurentian Ski Hill added a little Olympic flavour, as Olympians Cherie Piper and Genevieve Simard were on hand for 'Mini-Olympics'.

This year's 26th annual Canadore College/Best Western Shootout was a huge success with 36 teams from all over Ontario participating in the event.
