Wj's Club takes part in first-ever Sports Day in Canada

In honour of Sports Day in Canada, a national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high-performance levels, Wj's Volleyball Club is hosting an invitational "mixed" volleyball FUNDRAISER marathon tournament @ Canadore College gym.

Sports Day in Canada on September 18, 2010, is presented by CBC Sports, ParticipACTION and True Sport and is guided by a committee of national sporting organizations and their networks of coaches, athletes and enthusiasts across the country. It's an opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate the power of sport to build community, fortify our national spirit and promote healthy, active living.

"What a fantastic way not only to participate in this ground breaking SPORTS DAY in CANADA event and at the same time hosting a FUNDRAISER supporting the FIGHT AGAINST CYSTIC FIBROSIS = a great cause, but also enjoying a great weekend of volleyball play !" says Wj.

Each player will receive a neon t-shirt and gift for participating : )

Sports Day in Canada caps off a week of close to one thousand local sporting events and activities, open houses and try-it days showcasing sport at all levels, and includes a special television broadcast on CBC.

All proceeds for this FUNDRAISER is in partnership with the CCRC's SHINERAMA to support the FIGHT AGAINST CYSTIC FIBROSIS.

"From elementary to high school, Varsity players, coaches ~ teachers and parents, volleyball is a sport everyone can take part in and enjoy . no matter the age !"
