Wildcats defend NDA soccer title

The Widdifield Wildcats defended their NDA soccer crown with a close 1-0 win over the Algonquin Barons in the NDA Senior Boys soccer final on Wednesday. It was a big win for the Cats who edged the unbeaten Barons in the finale.

It was a big win for the Cats who edged the unbeaten Barons in the finale.

Meantime there was celebration at Cundari Field as the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Junior Boys and Varsity Girls teams won their respective championships on home turf Wednesday.

The Junior Bears won 3-0 over the West Ferris Trojans.

Anthony Celebre scored twice in the win while Mitchell Beaulieu also scored on a second half penalty kick.

Mitch Forte recorded the shutout for the Bears.

The girls did the same, defeating the Algonquin Barons by the same score of 3-0.
