The Widdifield Wildcats were in Sudbury over the weekend for the NOSSA 'AA' finals, and the both the Junior and Senior teams were hoping to come home with another set of championship banners.

Both teams, after playing well in the round robin play were able to reach the final.

The senior boys met Notre Dame from Sudbury in the NOSSA final. The Wildcats came out ready for the game and behind some veteran setting of Braden Burk, and some amazing team defense the Wildcats were able to hand Notre Dame a 25-10 loss. In the second set of the final the Wildcats were even hungrier and barely allowed their opponents into double digits when the game was over, and for the second straight year the Wildcats won a NOSSA title.

With the NOSSA win the senior boys from Widdifield Wildcats will head to the Ontario championships next week and will be hoping for a top 4 ranking as a result of a great season. John Jeffries and Danny Gosselin coach the senior boys.

Junior Cats success

Meanwhile, the Jr. Wildcats team was also headed for the final. The junior boys game was a repeat of last years Nossa final. And again the Wildcats were ready time and time again Brad Herzog and Michael Cunnsion were able to score on Notre Dame. The junior squad played brilliantly and was also able to retain their NOSSA championship making it two straight for the Wildcats. Mark Hopper and Dave Keo coach the Junior Wildcats.
