West Ferris Skaters Edge Novice AA Trappers win gold

The West Ferris Skaters Edge Novice AA Trappers competed in the Wilson Chevrolet Oldsmobile Challenge Cup Rep Tournament in Temiskaming Shores this past weekend and came home with a gold medal.

The team used a balanced scoring attack, rock solid defense and stellar goaltending to earn victories over Nickel Centre, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Temiskaming Shores in round robin play. In the final, the Trappers stymied the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds and came away with a convincing 6-2 victory.

Team members include Owen Bethune, Nathan Caruso, Nicholas Cundari, Joseph Jordan, Jesse Kirkby, Eric Lafontaine, Nicholas Lalonde, Blake Langlois, Patrick Maille, Reece Proulx, Connor Punnett, Logan Roy, Pacey Schlueting, Jack Stockfish and Nicholas Tessier. Team staff includes head coach Mike Stockfish, assistant coaches Jim Jordan and Dan Tessier, trainer Rob Caruso and manager Don Maille.
