TORONTO, ON - Dan Watt scored three times and the lethal Lakers power play scored twice on 5 opportunities as they dumped the Ryerson Rams 7-3 Saturday afternoon.

Grant McGee, Lucas McKinley, Conor O'Donnell and Sam Hopewell had the other Lakers goals.

Matt Hache made 32 saves for the win. Sean Ryan and Kevin Rebelo had 2 assists in the win.

Alex Sharpe, Jesse Chidwick and Marcus Booth scored for the Rams.

With the win the Lakers move into sole possession of 4th spot in the OUA East with a 9-6-3 record putting the Lakers 1 point up on the 5th place Ottawa Gee Gee's.

Lakers head coach Mike McParland believes this was a great way to start the second half of the regular season.

“For us it was important to get a good start in their small rink and secondly it was good for us to get revenge over them winning in North Bay in our home opener," said McParland after the win.

The Lakers hope to build on that lead with a home game Sunday afternoon against the 1-15-1 Royal Military College Paladins which has fittingly been called "Support the Troops" night as the Lakers will wear special camouflage Lakers jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game.

Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
