The Fun-in-Fitness Jets U13 Boys Selects soccer team capped off a tremendous year being crowned the North Region Soccer League’s U13 Boys champions with a 10-2-0 record. The team faced Club teams from Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay and walked away with a 61 goals for and 17 goals against record.

“With the NRSL title, we have now earned the right to advance to a Level 3 league in either the Central Region (Toronto) or possibly the East Region (Ottawa). The boys will be part of an elite group of competitors as they square off against some of the best teams in Ontario next season,” said team manager Amedeo Bernardi.

“We will prepare the boys over the winter for a much more physical game of soccer than what they are accustomed to. It is a challenge to practice on small gymnasium floors versus indoor artificial turf fields. However, we will work on their conditioning and skills while focusing on their mental preparation for what they will encounter.”

The Jets Select team is part of the newly formed North Bay Selects Soccer Club.

“As a young team, we are thrilled with their accomplishments," said Club President Doug Cameron.

"The Club is also pleased that a North Bay soccer team will be competing at Level 3 for the first time in its history. We know that our Club will continue to thrive for years to come as the youth of North Bay see what they can achieve.”

The team will be announcing try outs for the upcoming season shortly. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to [email protected].

Avid soccer fans that would like to sponsor the Jets for this upcoming season are asked to contact Amedeo Bernardi at [email protected].
