The West Ferris Trojans didn't start off well at NOSSA but fought back to win the elusive title. In their first game they were up against Sir James Dunn from Sault Ste. Marie and lost a hard fought game 56-54. West Ferris trailed at half by 5 but took the lead with four minutes left 46-44 but couldn't hold it. Dustin Anthony led the way with an impressive 36 point performance. Morgan Brown added 13.

In their sudden death semifinal they had to play Notre Dame from Sudbury - fresh from their impressive upset victory over Lasalle in their City Championship. That ended Lasalle string of 15 straight City Championships. The game was tight and the Trojans held a 24-20 lead at the half. They increased their lead to 39-30 at the end of the 3rd quarter only to see Notre Dame crawl back late in the game. Robbie Tiller clutch free throw sealed the game and a late 3 by Notre Dame made the final 55-54. Anthony had 28 to lead the Trojans and Brown had 13. Cole Addley pitched in with 10.

The Trojans now had to try and beat the Dunn who had beaten them in OT at Tomahawk by 1 point and on Friday by 2. The Trojans got off to a fast start on their opening possesion as Anthony drained a long three to put the Trojans ahead 3-0. They led 12-6 at the quarter and 17-15 at the half in a defensive struggle. The 3rd quarter was the difference as the Trojans played their best defense quarter outscoring the Eagles 9-2.

Great rebounding by Tyson Brear, Tom Conrad and Phil Dampier was the key. The Eagles pulled within 3 but great foul shooting by Conrad, Anthony and Brown sealed the deal and the title 43-33. Anthony scored 21 and Brown had his best game of the tournament holding Kevin McEachern to 2 points and scoring 16. Dampier added 4 key points in the 2nd half.

On Friday the Dunn's top 3 scorers were able to pour in 45 points and in the Championship game they were held to 23 points. That was the difference as Brown, Addley, Conrad and Anthony held them in check most of the game.

The Trojans are off to 'AA' OFSAA in Oshawa which takes place March 3rd to 5th.
