Trojans overwhelm Barons under the lights

The West Ferris Trojans got off to a good start with a 34-3 victory over Algonquin Barons on Friday night in front over 1000 fans at the Trojan Alumni Complex. The Trojans got off to great start with a booming kick from Trent Robinson.

The Trojans got off to great start with a booming kick from Trent Robinson. The Defense held ESCA deep and forced a punt resulting in a short field. A Spencer Brear to Sam Levac touchdown throw from 18 yards out gave the Trojans a quick 7-0 lead.

On the Trojans next drive Mike Small went in from 2 yards out to up the lead to 13-0. The Barons did sustain a great drive featured by a 58 yard run from Rhys Libby but had to settle for a field goal from Jean-Micheal Paulin to cut the lead to 13-3. Brad Piper then scored from 4 yards out to make the score 20-3 at the half.

The second half saw Trent Robinson hit two field goals from 28 and 42 yards. Steve Bertram ran from 17 yards out to make the final 34-3.

Mason Keall, Dylan Dutrisac and Aaron Lott had interceptions for the Trojans. Eric Huard and Devin McGirr were in the Trojan backfield all night and made several tackles.
