Trojans running back Phil Thesen had a pair of touchdowns, including running back a kickoff for 6 points as the West Ferris Trojans defeated the Northern S.S. Braves 33-7 the NDA Sr. Boys Football semi-final at the Trojan Alumni Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Corey Paquette had the lone score for the Braves to make it 10-7 for the Trojans in the second quarter.

However, on the ensuing kick-off, running back-kick returner Phil Thesen took it back all the way for a score for what was the turning point in a game played on a mud soaked field.

"It was great, I didn't think I could do it," said Thesen.

"We were going right and they called black and we went way out left, I found a hole and just ran," added Thesen who also ran back a kick-off return against the Braves at the Roger Centre during the regular season.

"I thought when we took that 17-7 lead and expanded it at the half to 26-7 I thought that it was really helpful," said Trojans head coach Larry Tougas.

"The rain started to come also and the weather started turning a little bit there too so it was really difficult to score so we scored at the right time."

Joey Puddister and Steve Bertram had the other touchdowns for the Trojans while Trent Robinson had a field goal along with 3 converts in the win.

The Trojans win sets up a re-match of last year's NDA final as the unbeaten Trojans will host the Widdifield Wildcats, who dismantled the Algonquin Barons in the other semi-final by a score of 33-0.
