Trojans at Shoot the Rock Tourney

SUDBURY, ON - The West Ferris Senior Boys Basketball team played this weekend at the Shoot the Rock Invitational tournament hosted by Laurentian University. In their 1st game they defeated Pretty River Academy from Collingwood 60-37.
SUDBURY, ON - The West Ferris Senior Boys Basketball team played this weekend at the Shoot the Rock Invitational tournament hosted by Laurentian University.

In their 1st game they defeated Pretty River Academy from Collingwood 60-37. Balanced scoring was the key as 10 players hit the scoresheet for the Trojans. Charlie Hancock led the way with 12 points while Spencer Brear added 10. Jake Tougas and Sam Levac each chipped in with 8 points.

In game 2 the Trojans had to face OFSAA AA Bronze medalists Timmins Blues. West Ferris got off to great start and led 29-19 at the half. The Trojans saw their lead cut to 6 at the end of the 3rd quarter and led 45-43 with 3 minutes left. A late flurry by the Blues and 3 missed shots down the stretch cost the Trojans and they lost 54-48 to Timmins. Hancock sored a game high 15 ponts while Levac added 12 points. Steve Thomas and Cole Addley each scored 8 points.

In game 3 they played David and Mary Thomson from Toronto and won 57-50. Sam Levac had a big game scoring 18 points for the Trojans. Cole Addley contributed 13 points for the Green and White.

West Ferris continues it tournament schedule as they travel to Peterborough to participate in the Kawartha Classic next weekend.
