Trappers slide by 87's

Trappers rookie Roch Pellerin scored the game winner midway through the third period as the North Bay Trappers edged the Kirkland Lake 87's 6-5 at the Kirkland Lake Community Complex on Saturday night. Zachary Hunter scored twice for the Trappers.
Trappers rookie Roch Pellerin scored the game winner midway through the third period as the North Bay Trappers edged the Kirkland Lake 87's 6-5 at the Kirkland Lake Community Complex on Saturday night.

Zachary Hunter scored twice for the Trappers. Nick Huard and Ryan Leckie each had a goal and two assists. Anthony Trozzo scored the other Trappers goal.

The Trappers scored four of their six goals on the powerplay.

Shane Dube, Trevor Deneault, Chris Walraven, Stephane Landry and Jordan Turbide scored for the 87's.

The Trappers win improves their record to 2-2 on the season.

The Trappers first home game is next Saturday, September 29th when they host the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves at West Ferris arena.
