The North Bay Trappers came off a long layoff and hammered the Kirkland Lake 87's 8-1 at West Ferris arena on Saturday night.

Pascal Seguin led the offense with two goals and two assists. Jordon Scott also scored twice for the Trappers. Other goal scorers for the home side were Casey Restoule, Roch Pellerin, Ryan Leckie, Nick Huard, and Adam Marceau. Mitchell Davis chipped in with three assists.

Trappers head coach Beau Moyer was thrilled to see his offence hit high gear Saturday night.

“We’ve been struggling on the powerplay so it was good to get a couple of goals,” admitted Moyer.

“I guess the guys were eager to play today, we’ve had four practices since our last game back in the Gatineau tournament so the guys were getting tired of competing against each other and were ready to come out and inflict some pain on the opposition.”

The Trappers don’t have long to dwell on the big win as they host the 27-1-1 Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves on Sunday afternoon. Game time is 1:20 p.m. at the West Ferris
