Anthony Trozzo scored the lone goal as the North Bay Trappers dropped a tight 2-1 decision to the South Central Ontario Coyotes in their opening game at the Big Nickel Tournament in Sudbury Thursday night.

Solid goaltending by Tanner Davis kept the score close but head coach Beau Moyer said it was a good effort but some poor play for a 5-minute span of the first period cost them the game.

The Trappers who are playing in the Canada Dry Division will take on the Ontario East Wild at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Cambrian arena. They don't get much rest as they are back on the ice at the Cambrian arena at 6:30 p.m. when they face the Indians from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
