The West Ferris Trojans and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears will meet for the third time this year in the most important game of the season. Which North Bay school will be the 2006 NDA Sr. Football Champion?

Chris:

”Well, Frank I don’t even have to think for a second which school you are taking. But being the unbiased journalist with no high school ties to either school I am going to be completely objective here and pick the West Ferris Trojans over the Bears on the Championship Saturday.

“I got the gears from the Trojans coaching staff for picking Northern last weekend and I really think that playing such a solid game in the semi-final is going to set the table for what many will say will be an upset on Saturday afternoon. The Bears turned the tables on the Trojans by ‘owning’ them in their first two match-ups. While the Bears may be the better team overall, I just cannot see the Trojans losing three straight to the Bears this season so I am picking the Trojans in a low scoring affair due to Mother Nature 14-9."

Frank:

”Yeah, you’re right Chris I always take the Bears. But this is a match-up of a pair of teams that know each other very well in what has arguably become the best rivalry in the city.

“I think the Bears team is just too talented this year and their defence is outstanding and offensively they have the guns this year that will make the difference. I give credit to the Trojans (unlike Chris, I picked the Trojans to defeat Northern) and I know that Larry Tougas will have his club prepared and this will be one of the best finals in recent years.

“My pick is the Bears to win a close one 21-18.”
