Thunderbirds start with the right stroke

Twenty swimmers from the CFB North Bay Thunderbirds Swim Club traveled to Sudbury last weekend (Oct 28-29) to participate in the season’s first meet.
Twenty swimmers from the CFB North Bay Thunderbirds Swim Club traveled to Sudbury last weekend (Oct 28-29) to participate in the season’s first meet. The T-Birds proved to be right on track for a fantastic season with all twenty swimmers achieving personal bests.

Newcomers to the Club Zeyana Laplante(8) and MacKenzie King(12) made a huge splash. King swam to six personal best while Laplante(Zeyana) swam to two.

In the 9 & 10 year old category Evan Lechlitner(9) made improvements with one personal best while Zaffia Laplante(9) and Sydney Hughes(10) swam to four each. Kylie Webster(10) excelled with five personal best and Caitlyn Jones(9) and Jesse Hives(10) proved their stuff achieving six personal bests each.

Swimmers in the 11 & 12 year old category made waves achieving 25 personal bests. Jane Ferguson(12), Taylor Russell(12) and Megan Hives(12) each accomplished two personal bests. Jaime Lee Udeschini(12) had three personal best while Brooklyn Jones(11) and Jaydan Jackson(11) each displayed four. Sierra McCourt(12) swam to a superb six personal bests.

The older swimmers began the season by province they still have it. Andrew Palangio(14) and Emma Hives(14) came home with one personal best each, Constance Leavitt(15) swam to two, Megan Menard(13) had three and Dylan Jackson(15) had four personal bests showing.

The T-Birds are off again November 10th to the 12th in Barrie hoping to outshine their Southern competition.
