The TCM Peewee House League hockey team, sponsored by Symetrics, have added another 1,022 pounds to Tom Hedican's 2009 Coach4Food campaign. That brings this year's total to 26,199 pounds of food for the North Bay Food Bank. With one week left, Coach4Food needs more than 34,000 pounds to break last year's record of 60,482 but "there are some heavy hitters coming up this week," Hedican says. "It remains to be seen whether we break last year's record but it's going to be close."

Coach4Food, inspired by Bruce Springsteen's work with food banks in Canada and the U.S., where teams are put through NHL and European professional skill drills in return for non-perishable food items, will continue through December, with the final total being announced Dec. 23.
