T-birds return from long course provincials

Etobicoke- Sierra McCourt (11), Andrew Palangio (13), Bryanna Penno (12) and Jennifer Piper (15) four members of the CFB Thunderbird Swim Club swam in the Junior/SWAD Provincial Long Course Provincials at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool where they join 751 swimmers from 76 teams. The championships ran from Thursday, July 7th to Sunday July 10th.

The four have been training everyday for the last month in preparation for the Provincials. Sierra McCourt has placed 13th in her 50m freestyle with a 31.60 , 16th in her 400m IM with a 6:23.05, 7th in her 200 Butterfly with a time of 3:10.42 and 14th in her 100 freestyle with a time of 1:10.33, all of which were best times. Andrew Palangio placed 11th in his 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:13.46, 17th in his 100 freestyle with a time of 1:03.85 , 14th in his 200m Individual medley with a time of 2:40.11 and 12th in his 50m freestyle with a 29.06 all but his 50 freestyle were in best times. Bryanna Penno placed 9th in her 200m Breaststroke with a time of 3:03.38 and 13th in 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:18.72, 8th in her 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:2378, 18th in her 200 freestyle with a time of 2:31.50, 11th in her 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:50.73 and 10th in her 200m Individual medley with a time of 2:50.73. Bryanna’s 200 free, 200 IM and 200 Butterfly were in personal best times. Jennifer Piper placed 9th in her 50m freestyle with a time of 28.10 , 35th in 200m freestyle with a time of 2:15.43, 14th in 100 freestyle with a time of 1:00.93 and 35th with a time of 2:36.81. The four swimmers can now take a well deserved break before resuming practice in late August.
