The North Bay Skyhawks snuck out of Blind River with two points after defeating the Blind River Beavers 7-6 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon.

The Skyhawks built up a 3-0 lead but Skyhawks head coach Darren Turcotte says a few mental errors throughout the game allowed the Beavers to get back into the game.

"We made some wrong decisions at the wrong time," said Turcotte.

"For the most part we played well but we have to eliminate the mental mistakes and that will make things easier on us."

The Skyhawks used six different scorers in regulation as AJ Shriverdecker, Josh Diamond, Nathan Hewitt, Joe Trotter, Justin Piquette and Jon Drake scored in the shootout win.

Skyhawks goaltender Michael Lalande made 36 stops in the win.

The Skyhawks will now prepare for a big game on Wednesday as they travel West to visit the Sudbury Jr. Wolves.

More details on the game later...
