The North Bay Skyhawks built up a 2-0 lead after two period of play against the pesky Manitoulin Islanders Friday night at Memorial Gardens and held on for the victory.

Louis D'Avino and Brad Hummel scored for the Skyhawks. Ian Wilson was credited with the shutout.

Coming into Friday's contest the Skyhawks had lost three of their last four meetings against the last place Manitoulin Islanders including a 3-1 loss last Friday in Little Current.
