Skyhawks edge Eskimos

Arron Assinewei broke a 5-5 tie with a power play goal with less than eight minutes to play in the third as the North Bay Skyhawks slipped by the Abitibi Eskimos 6-5 Thursday night in Iroquois Falls.

Nick Kulas scored three times for the Hawks with singles going to Matt Lathem and Ken May. Mike Lalande made 15 stops for the win.

The Skyhawks return to home ice Friday night as they host the Blind River Beavers at Memorial Gardens.
