Skyhawks edge Eagles

Brad Norkum, Nick Laporte, Kody Carnevale and Dustin Fummerton scored the other goals for the Skyhawks in their first meeting with the new NOJHL franchise.

For the second straight game the Skyhawks allowed 3 goals in the opening period - however they were able to counter with two of their own.

“It was too wide open for my liking,” said Skyhawks head coach Ian Swalucynski.

“We were forced to make some adjustments. We hadn’t played a team like this before and we made the adjustments and it worked."

Jeff Michael got the win in goal for the Skyhawks who were without Solomon McCann Friday night.

Brett Brazier scored twice for the Eagles.

Ryan McAleese, Aaron Celestino, Brett Brazier and Adam Phillips had the other goals for the Eagles.

With the win the Skyhawks improve to a league best 14-2 record.

The Skyhawks continue their busy weekend on Saturday night as they visit the Soo Thunderbirds before returning to the friendly confines of Memorial Gardens Sunday night for a tilt with the Temiscaming Royals.
